Much like my previous walk from Barmouth to Harlech, I was on familiar territory on my walk from Harlech to Porthmadog – although I’d never walked this route, so there was still a lot to discover. This section of the Wales Coast Path navigates the Dwyryd Estuary, with stunning views of Portmeirion (as well as the opportunity to stop by for a visit), and a final walk along the Cob to Porthmadog Harbour.

The walk from Barmouth to Harlech was the one I’d been waiting for – quite possibly the main reason I was drawn to begin walking the Wales Coast Path in the first place. Because both Barmouth and Harlech are places that mean a lot to me – and this walk bridges the gap between my dad’s family and my mum’s. This part of Cymru’s coast is stunning, with beautiful, sandy beaches and mountainous views making for some of the very best of the Welsh coast.
