Follow my journey along the Wales Coast Path, where I share photos from the walk, my insights into walking the path, where I’ve stayed and eaten, and the challenges I’ve faced, to help you plan your very own Welsh Walking Adventure.
Perhaps the quirkiest place to visit along the Wales Coast Path is Portmeirion, a stunning Italianate-style village perched along the Dwyryd Estuary, in the community of Penrhyndeudraeth, near Porthmadog. Whether you stop off on your Wales Coast Path walk or make a day of it, if you’re staying in Eryri, Portmeirion is a must-visit.
Much like my previous walk from Barmouth to Harlech, I was on familiar territory on my walk from Harlech to Porthmadog – although I’d never walked this route, so there was still a lot to discover. This section of the Wales Coast Path navigates the Dwyryd Estuary, with stunning views of Portmeirion (as well as the opportunity to stop by for a visit), and a final walk along the Cob to Porthmadog Harbour.
